Yorston Lodge School is a co-educational independent school for children aged from 3 to 11 years. Based in the small, pleasant town of Knutsford, Cheshire, the school boasts over 100 years of high academic standards.
A thorough range of subjects are taught, combining rigorous standards with opportunities for all. The pupils at Yorston Lodge are well-mannered, cheerful children who are prepared to work and play hard. Indeed we strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.
All the pupils are encouraged to make the most of their talents and every child is valued as an individual and recognized for their unique gifts. Our aim is to provide every pupil with the opportunity to develop academically, creatively, socially and physically and with a growing sense of responsibility for themselves and others.
Our most recent Ofsted Inspection took place in May 2013 when the judgement was ‘Outstanding’.
If you would like to organise a visit with the Headmistress, Mrs Dallimore, this can be done via the contact us page. Alternatively, our email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
It isn’t all work, however, at Yorston Lodge. Pupils are encouraged to play equally as hard whilst retaining a fair and considerate attitude; having fun so that they are more likely to continue with their sport in the future.
Taught by specialist PE teachers the children are given the opportunity to perform in football, netball, tag-rugby, basketball, gymnastics, hockey, athletics, cricket, rounders, swimming, dance and tennis.
Several boys have been selected to play for teams at both of Manchester’s Premier League clubs as well as at Bolton FC. A Former pupil, now at Manchester High School, is considered a real prospect for the nation’s swimming team at the 2012 Olympic Games.
Music and drama are both taught as part of the curriculum with the opportunity to learn various types of instruments, take part in local music festivals and enter LAMDA Examinations.
Always a favourite amongst pupils – and staff and parents – is the annual ski trip. Every February, a party of up to 70 (including Kindergarten children) enjoy the snow and slopes in France.
