The Cross Keys Hotel and Public House

Profile Description

The Cross Keys Hotel and Public House

Welcome to the Cross Keys Knutsford

The Cross Keys is one of Knutsford’s oldest inns – however its age is difficult to pinpoint and may well date date back to 1642, when a survey of the time recorded 42 taverns in Knutsford!

Knutsford is a picturesque market town with a rich heritage. Today Knutsford is renowned as Cheshire’s eating capital – with a bewildering array of restaurants to choose from.

A map dating back to 1786, shows the Cross Keys as being part of the Lord Egerton estate. For many years the Barrow family ran the inn – the 1841 census shows 30 year old Hanna Barrow as Innkeeper, assisted by her sisters Jane, 23 and Anne aged 20.

For the visitor, there is a wealth of local attractions, including Tatton Park with its historic house and 1000 acres of park land.

Food & Drink

The Cross Keys is renowed for its range of fine guest real ales sourced from micro breweries from around the UK, including Knutsford’s own Tatton Brewery. Also on offer is a good selection of lagers, fine wines and spirits.
